The CSUSB Chamber Singers had the incredible opportunity to perform alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in a special production of the classic holiday film, “Home Alone.” The ensemble, under the direction of CSUSB Director of Conducting & Choral Activities Lesley Leighton, collaborated with renowned professional musicians, gaining firsthand experience at the highest level of the music industry.

“This is the second year in a row that our students have been given this wonderful opportunity to sing in one of the top concert halls in the world, surrounded by all professional musicians …, the opportunity to experience what it's like to work at the top level in professional music in Los Angeles, with one of the best orchestras in the world, led by one of the best-known conductor-composers in the film industry,” said Leighton.

The performances took place on Dec. 21 and 22 at Walt Disney Concert Hall, featuring the iconic film’s score by composer John Williams, conducted by David Newman and performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. The experience was a milestone for the CSUSB Chamber Singers, demonstrating the university’s commitment to providing students with real-world opportunities that enhance their artistic growth. Performing in collaboration with the LA Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the singers showcased their exceptional talent on a world-class stage, making this a performance to remember.
