Cal State San Bernardino’s Project Rebound will host the third annual Supporting Successful Reentry Conference on Wednesday, April 16, at 8 a.m. This year’s theme, “Unlocking Potential: The Role of Higher Education in Reentry Journeys,” highlights progressive strategies, challenges and successes in bridging education with reentry support.
Building on this focus, Project Rebound, established at CSUSB in 2016, provides crucial resources for formerly incarcerated students transitioning back into society. The program offers academic advising, financial planning, community building, and additional resources to help students succeed academically, financially and professionally.
Held in the Santos Manuel Student Union North and South, the Supporting Successful Reentry Conference will feature keynote speakers, workshops and panel discussions on the innovations and barriers system-impacted individuals face upon reentry.
Additionally, the conference will include a resource fair designed to connect attendees with essential services and support networks. Community leaders, advocacy groups, and local organizations will promote resources, such as mental health care, housing assistance, financial support and academic opportunities.
On-site legal services will also be available to help justice-impacted individuals navigate their reentry journey successfully.

This ongoing collaboration with Riverside City College’s Rising Scholars program, College of the Desert’s Rising Scholars program and UC Riverside’s Underground Scholars program welcomes attendees to exchange ideas and solutions, network with reentry advocates and scholars, and engage in critical discussions that promote equity and access for formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals.
