Golfers of any level looking to improve their game have a new resource: “The Golf Performance Code: Unlocking Secrets of Mind, Body, and Nutrition,” co-authored by Guillermo Escalante, professor of kinesiology and associate dean in Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Natural Sciences.
Newly published on Amazon and Kindle, “The Golf Performance Code” goes beyond how golfers can swing a club to avoid slicing or hooking a drive. Authors Escalante, Alison Curdt and Ken Mengel provide them with strategies for caring for their physical well-being, fueling their bodies and building a resilient mindset to bring their game to another level.

And, yes, this does involve their golf swing – and a better game. By strengthening the body, golfers can reduce the risk of injury, improve overall fitness, and ultimately improve their swing. Turning to the science of nutrition, making better food choices enhance energy, performance, recovery and focus. And learning psychological techniques helps to improve their concentration, manage stress, and stay composed in challenging situations.
Escalante has published research related to sports medicine, sports nutrition, human performance enhancement and physique enhancement. Curdt is a PGA Master and LPGA Master professional golfer with more than 36 years of competitive golf experience, and also serves as a clinical sport psychotherapist through Curdt Performance Therapy, helping athletes achieve peak performance. Mengel is a leader in physical therapy, sports medicine and performance training, with over 30 years of experience, and is the founder of KM Golf Performance.
