Ahlam Muhtaseb, professor of media studies was a guest on the Substack program to discuss “1948: Creation and Catastrophe,” which she co-produced with Andy Trimlett.  “What was supposed to be a 30-minute discussion turned into over 75 minutes and I’m so grateful for the time she spent with the audience of ‘Palestine Bookshelf,’” said program host Stephen Heiner.

Brian Levin, a criminologist and founder of the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino, commented on the conflicting responses of top Trump officials to the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot and the Minneapolis shooting deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Critics say it demonstrates a stark double standard. “Perhaps the most clear double standard is that Renee Good and Alex Pretti never got a trial,” Levin said. “Never got a trial before they were labeled as terrorists and criminals. They not only never saw their day in court. They never saw another day.”
