CSUSB became a hub of hands-on learning as the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) welcomed nearly 500 sixth-12th grade students, teachers, staff and families from 12 Inland Empire schools for its spring CNS Science Carnival.
Hosted in collaboration with CSUSB’s Division of Student Affairs and the James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education, the event transformed campus into an interactive day of exploration. CSUSB faculty, staff and student volunteers led a wide range of hands-on activities and live demonstrations designed to make science engaging and fun.
Students rotated through stations that brought STEM concepts to life — from modeling earthquakes and uncovering fossils to exploring space science. Interactive highlights included experimenting with slime, engaging with a robotic dog and observing a cryogenics demonstration, giving attendees a firsthand look at how science connects to the world around them.
Beyond the exhibits, the carnival provided opportunities for participants to check their vision and learn more about physical wellness.
More than a day of activities, the CNS Science Carnival reflected CSUSB’s commitment to expanding access to STEM education and building meaningful connections with local schools and the community. By creating opportunities for hands-on discovery, CSUSB is helping spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators across the Inland Empire.
