The Department of History at California State University, San Bernardino will host a virtual discussion with Assistant Professor Michael Karp on Wednesday, April 22, at noon via Zoom, highlighting his new book “Raising the Redwood Curtain: Labor Landscapes and Community Violence in a Pacific Littoral.”
The book examines how the spread of global capitalism violently reordered labor patterns and social relations in northwestern California.
Karp, who teaches at the university’s Palm Desert Campus, will reflect on how his undergraduate experiences helped shape his academic research and discuss the process of writing and completing the book.
The first five attendees to RSVP will receive a free copy of Karp’s book.
Those interested in attending can register at the Zoom meeting registration page.
