California State University, San Bernardino’s Office of Academic Research (OAR) has launched a new podcast series, “AI in Action,” designed to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, education, leadership and the future of work.
The first episode, “AI in Action: The AI Reset – What’s Actually Changing,” was released Wednesday, May 13, on the OAR homepage.
Hosted by Chief Research Officer Timothy Akers, the debut episode features Valerie Capers Workman, Esq., former head of human resources for Tesla and current chief human resources officer of Empower Pharmacy, and examines how AI is transforming work, decision-making, leadership and workforce skills while cutting through the hype often surrounding the technology.
The podcast series builds on the momentum of CSUSB’s inaugural Defining the Future conference, held in April, and extends those conversations into an ongoing platform for thought leadership, student engagement and public dialogue.
Across its first 10 episodes, “AI in Action” will explore how artificial intelligence is influencing major sectors of society while also highlighting the growing role of quantum science and advanced technologies in the future of innovation. Episodes will feature perspectives from academia, industry, government, community partners and students.
The podcast is intended for a broad audience, including CSUSB students, educators, workforce professionals, employers, entrepreneurs, military-connected students and veterans, community and civic leaders, and anyone interested in the evolving impact of AI and emerging technologies.
The launch of “AI in Action” reflects CSUSB’s continued leadership in conversations surrounding innovation, workforce development and the future of technology. Through accessible and cross-sector discussions, the series aims to help listeners better understand the opportunities and challenges emerging technologies present for education, careers and society.
