The inaugural CyberPatriot Cyber Camp, which took place at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, was an interactive five-day event aimed at empowering local high school students with vital cybersecurity skills and igniting a passion for STEM careers.

The discussion, led by Tomás Gomez-Arias, dean of the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, and Stella Qiu, chair of the Department of Management, will explore the truths and misconceptions surrounding trade and tariffs.

The cyber camp, taught by CSUSB students and alumni, brought 30 high school juniors and seniors to campus for a four-day immersive experience in cybersecurity, featuring hands-on training, mentorship from industry professionals, and a taste of college life.

Tomás D. Morales shared his thoughts on a variety of topics related to higher education in an interview with Naja Faysal, host of the Inland Empire Business Network Podcast.

Students had the opportunity to interact with vendors and business operators from across the country and internationally.

Mike Stull (entrepreneurship), Stuart Sumida (biology) and Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus) were mentioned in recent news coverage.

The California State University Board of Trustees has approved the naming of the university’s entrepreneurship school and center as the Randall W. Lewis School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Randall W. Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship.

Many of the newly minted CSUSB alumni are the first in their families to earn a college degree. “With this achievement you have broken a barrier and will now forever be a role model for siblings, relatives and future generations,” university President Tomás D. Morales said. Five commencement ceremonies took place May 16-17.

The new program is designed to prepare students for human resources leadership roles and SHRM certification. Prospective students can learn more by attending virtual info sessions on June 2 or July 7. Applications for fall 2025 are available now.
