A weekend of ceremonies that honored the hard work and dedication of the Class of 2022. A total of 2,320 undergraduate students and 513 graduate students celebrated at the CSUSB Spring Commencement on May 20 and 21.

“I’m shocked. I didn’t expect this at all, but it’s good to see you all and thank you so very much for the kind words about myself and what I do. It means a lot to me, and it means a lot to my students as well,” Hwang said after she was surprised with the award by CSUSB President Tomás Morales and a group of fellow faculty on April 7.

The construction and renovation project would add two new buildings to campus including a new Performing Arts Center and an academic building that would serve as an anchor to the College of Arts and Letters.

Noted philanthropist and supporter of higher education throughout the world, Dr. Sang-Kyun Lee, CEO of South Korea-based Shin-Il Corporation and chairman of the Shin-Il Foundation, will be awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.
