CSUSB entrepreneurship students gain momentum with BluCore Minerals startup

What began as a classroom commercialization project at CSUSB has evolved into a growing startup gaining national recognition. MSEI students Raymond Moorehead Jr. and Jacob Estrada are advancing BluCore Minerals’ technology to extract lithium and other valuable minerals from wastewater streams while securing funding, accelerator opportunities and industry connections.

CSUSB startup soars to the 2025 Rice Business Plan Competition

Carmine Minerals, a startup founded by CSUSB MSEI student Raymond Moorehead Jr. and MSEI alumna Jacqueline Gilyard Jones, has been selected to compete in the 2025 Rice Business Plan Competition, the largest and most renowned business plan competition in the world. The startup was selected as one of only 42 teams from a highly competitive pool of over 900 applicants.
