
Jessica Block Nerren (communication studies) led a team that included CSUSB faculty whose new book on autism-inclusion, education reform and communication, was recently published, Kate Liszka (history) served as a consultant on a new Disney movie, and Michael Stull (entrepreneurship) discussed the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship’s first-ever State of Entrepreneurship Minority Report.

The LEAD Summit at Cal State San Bernardino brings together educators, researchers, artists, students, parents, activists and others who share a common interest and commitment to education issues that impact Latinos. This year’s summit takes place Sept. 30.

Enrique Murillo Jr. (education) discussed the upcoming LEAD Summit XI at CSUSB on Sept. 30, and Brian Levin (criminal justice) was interviewed about the extremist group the Oath Keepers.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a program designed for adults 50 and older who want to experience learning for the fun of it.

Rosalio Muñoz’s talk is part of this year’s theme for the LEAD Summit revisiting and commemorating social movements from the last 50 years, including the birth of Chicano-ethnic studies, the school walkouts/blowouts, bilingual education and the Chicano Moratorium.

Misealle “Ellie” Tolliver has been selected for the 2022-23 California State University Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, the CSU’s highest recognition of success.

Registration for LEAD XI, “Movimiento y Compromiso: 50 Years of Challenges, Possibilities, and the Quest for Educational Equity,” set for Sept. 30 at CSUSB’s Santos Manuel Student Union North, can now be done online. The summit is open to the public and registration is free.

The bilingual teaching symposium for educators, focused on infusing Afro-Latinx content into K-12 teaching, will take place from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, in-person and virtually.
