CSUSB generates nearly $1 billion in economic activity throughout the Inland Empire each year, according to the report. Statewide, the 22 California State University campuses together remain one of the state’s strongest catalysts of economic mobility and innovation.
CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration hosted “The AI Debate: ChatGPT vs. Dr. Vincent Nestler” on Nov. 3, where Nestler cautioned students about AI’s human-driven biases, job impacts and misinformation, while ChatGPT argued AI can be a powerful tool if guided ethically.

Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship will host the 23rd Annual Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards on Nov. 18 at the Riverside Convention Center, celebrating top business innovators in the Inland Empire. CSUSB alumnus Edward Lockridge is the founder and CEO of My Freight Staff, a Rancho Cucamonga-based company that provides virtual assistants to the freight transportation industry, employing about 20 staff locally and 3,000 worldwide.

Brown College of Business and Public Administration will host its annual Business Career & Internship Fair on April 10, offering students the opportunity to network with Inland Empire employers and explore career and internship opportunities. The event, free to CSUSB students, will be held at the SMSU South Events Center from 2-5 p.m. Registration is required.
Carmine Minerals, a startup founded by CSUSB MSEI student Raymond Moorehead Jr. and MSEI alumna Jacqueline Gilyard Jones, has been selected to compete in the 2025 Rice Business Plan Competition, the largest and most renowned business plan competition in the world. The startup was selected as one of only 42 teams from a highly competitive pool of over 900 applicants.
On Wednesday, March 5, the Palm Desert Entrepreneurial Resource Center celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, featuring refreshments provided by local small businesses and congratulatory remarks by local and regional dignitaries.
