The John M. Pfau Legacy Society, established in 2023 and named for California State University, San Bernardino’s founding president, is dedicated to recognizing the visionary group of individuals – alumni, current and former faculty and friends of the university – who have chosen to support CSUSB by including the university in their estate plans.

Adolfo Velazquez has been selected as the new director of community relations and philanthropy at the Cal State San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus.

The space was redesigned after it was heavily damaged by flooding brought by remnants of Tropical Storm Kay in September 2022. The program begins at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Mihaela Popescu (communication studies) discussed the new CSUSB-Annenberg Pipeline Program with the Annenberg School for Communication, Mike Stull (entrepreneurship) introduced the new Entrepreneurial Resource Center, a partnership with the city of San Bernardino, Andrea Giuffren (criminal justice) coauthored a study on the long-term impact of juvenile crime, and Donna Garcia (psychology) coauthored research on claims of bias by “high-status” groups.

The center, an initiative developed by the city of San Bernardino and Cal State San Bernardino, will bring together a wide range of entrepreneurial support programs and organizations to provide a complete set of training, business counseling, and access to resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the city.

Designed, created and installed by students, “Eternal Learning” consists of 850 square feet of ceramic tile that depicts humans at work, study and play among larger-than-life books. The project took five years to make with the help of 20 CSUSB students.

The federal funding will help purchase state-of-the-art equipment, lab equipment and support and renovate the CSUSB Yasuda Center, which will house the MSPA program.
