The LEAD Summit XI and its related events have been postponed to September and will become part of the CSUSB Hispanic Heritage Month series of events.
The nine events of LEAD 2020 are expected to welcome more than 3,500 attendees (in-person) to the CSUSB campus, with thousands more online via Town Hall viewing sites around the world.
Cheech Marin, the honorary chair/padrino de honor, is the morning featured speaker, and Rosalío Muñoz, chiefly remembered as the co-chair of the Chicano Moratorium Committee, will speak in the afternoon. The summit will take place on March 26.
The theme for the 11th annual summit is “Movimiento y Compromiso: 50 Years of Challenges, Possibilities, and the Quest for Educational Equity.” The summit is set for March 26, and online registration is now open.
A Hispanic Heritage Month look-back: The annual Latino Education and Advocacy Days Summit focused on “¡Su Voto Es Su Voz!” Everyone Counts.
The theme for this year’s summit, “¡Viva La Mujer!,” honors women and the positive impact they have made. Honorary chairs for 2018 are longtime community leaders Gloria Macías Harrison and Marta Macías Brown.
The sisters from San Bernardino, who have a long history of contributing to the community, are the honorary chairs for the annual gathering at CSUSB. Registration for the free summit on March 29 is now open online.
