
The university is ranked No. 6 in the nation among more than 1,500 universities on the annual 2021 Social Mobility Index (SMI) published by CollegeNET.

Martha Garcia, the new superintendent/president of College of the Desert, was formerly introduced to the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Advancement Board, members of the CSUSB administration and various community partners.

The life experiences the Watsons have brought to support the College of Education have benefitted students, the campus and, ultimately, the communities CSUSB serves.

Invited guests from various community organizations, including members of the CSUSB leadership team, attended the celebration.

Tony Coulson (information decision sciences) and Mike Stull (entrepreneurship) were interviewed during the grand opening of the iHub in Palm Desert. The iHub is a collaboration of the City of Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership and Cal State San Bernardino.

Registration is now open for CSUSB’s Winter Intersession. Courses run from Dec. 17-Jan. 19 to help students who want to accelerate their progress toward graduation.

Tony Thurmond, state superintendent of public instruction, will give the afternoon keynote address at “Navigating K-12 Education in the Midst of Uncertainties,” set to take place from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Bernardino. Registration is open.
